In the big scheme of life, this is minor, but irritating none the less. The stop light at Main & Elm seems to default to red on Main as opposed to the other way around-which makes no sense. I brought this up a couple of years ago and it seemed to have been resolved, Main got the green unless east-west traffic from Elm approached the intersection.
Main street is a main throughfare, so shouldn't that light default to green for north-south traffic? And the duration of the red light for Main seems to have increased. Is it just me or has anybody else noticed this recently?

You would think it should be, but I hate that light. I get it every time, whether there's someone there waiting to get onto Main or not....and don't even get me started on the people who ignore its existence and just go through it when there aren't any cars crossing traffic.
Should I give up, or should I just keep chasing pavements....even if it leads nowhere - Adele
I must have been behind you - I swear that is an odd light!
From what I see from other little small towns that I go through when I vacation - usually in the evening -like after 6 PM till about 8 AM or so, a lot of intersections like that get a blinking light - Main would be blinking yellow -for caution -and Elm would be blinking red. I think it doesn't involve more signage then! Weekends too this can be accomplished. All that has to be done on small intersections is a little light programing and the pattern is set!
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
I think the problem is cars from either direction turning right from Elm to Main. They trigger the sensor to change the light and by the time it changes they're long gone. Traffic on Main is then stuck waiting for the light to cycle.
