lol, will that project ever end? i'm near carleton and duane. i primarily hear the great horned owl when walking the pooch too. but on a few lucky occasions i've spotted it in a tree in my backyard. one summer night it was right out the master bedroom window -- eye-to-eye w/me. sometimes you can shine a flashlight on it w/out it flying away. the trick is to not shine the light right at it.

don't know if he's the one who actually started the project, but at one time during the last four years c. george had a sign in front. my recollection is that he picked the job up after it first stalled.

George started it. He outbid me on the purchase price. Don't know if he finished it. People moved into it last month so I'm assuming it's more finished on the inside than the outside. BTW, My wife's grandpa Ray worked at T. A. Superette.

don't remember ray. i recall joe the butcher, dale (does he still work at the CBD post office?) and doris. i also knew owen tibbles, the last owner of t.a., VERY well. he was a close friend of the family. btw, gregg, were you in GW's class of '72?

Heard the owl tonight, 12/24 over by Walnut and Hill (glenoak). 9:00 p.m.. Near those teeny-tiny houses, near the stormwater (car storage) facility. Didn't see it but heard the distinctive, hoot--- hoot hoot hoot.

you sure you didn't hear ho ho ho? it is xmas eve after all. . . ;^p that area is perfect for the great horned owl. i'll bet that thing lives mostly in and around the country club. lots of tall trees with ample short grass below to hunt in.
