Does anybody know a really good place to fish? Preferably where the fish are edible-hahahaha. Happy Summer!

I often see people fishing off of Navy Pier, which fills me with horror. But still, they do. Even in the middle of January.

Navy Pier and Montrose Harbor are probably the two best spots for fresh, delicious, lake perch. June is the best month for consistent action/size.

Scribbler, why the horror?

maybe thinking polution? I remember many times as a child and my memory is foggy as where exactly we were as it was night time, but smelt fishing in spring(?) I remember we still had to wear winter coats. But I thought it was near the pier.
Best sized fish have been pulled out by my friends and I (even had one mounted) is, believe it not, Mallard lake. DO NOT EAT THESE FISH!
Don't forget your license!
Beverly lake isn't that bad either.

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year,
Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

I remember fishing Navy Pier in the early 80's with my Dad. The place was a real dump back then. I remember my Dad casting away, while I was chasing a dying salmon around the pier with a net. Was never able to catch him as the net was barely long enough to get down into the water more than a foot or so. Memories...sniff sniff.

DuPage FP stocks some of the lakes each year with adult fish- Blackwell with trout I believe.

Otherwise all freshwater bodies in the U.S. have mercury from coal burning.
