maybe thinking polution? I remember many times as a child and my memory is foggy as where exactly we were as it was night time, but smelt fishing in spring(?) I remember we still had to wear winter coats. But I thought it was near the pier. Best sized fish have been pulled out by my friends and I (even had one mounted) is, believe it not, Mallard lake. DO NOT EAT THESE FISH! Don't forget your license! Beverly lake isn't that bad either.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
I remember fishing Navy Pier in the early 80's with my Dad. The place was a real dump back then. I remember my Dad casting away, while I was chasing a dying salmon around the pier with a net. Was never able to catch him as the net was barely long enough to get down into the water more than a foot or so. Memories...sniff sniff.
