I only ask because people seem to live and die by what Consumer Reports says...what did they say about the Passat? And what do we all think about the upcoming Toyota Venza? Other than the metallic brown color that seems to be the only color that they have photographed.

It was the #1 family sedan, but I was already sold on it before I knew that...

I think the back end of the Venza looks funny.

still looking I guess.

Passat v6 (score 89): top family sedan, altima (89), accord (88), camry (87) and Passat v4 (86) round out top 5. BUT under reliability, the Passat gets poor ratings. Don't know how they would pick it twice in the top 5 when it has the worst reliability ratings of the bunch.

Funny, lowest overall scores at CR for all cars:

Jeep Wrangler - 17
Hummer H3 - 27
Jeep Liberty - 27
Chevy Aveo - 30

When I was reading their magazine in Borders it said that the Passat new car reliability was "much lower than average"...yet they name it one of their top 5 sedans. This is why I stay the hell away from Consumer Reports.

OH GOOD! No sign of crocus here yet. We have Cubs tix for about one month from now. I'd like it to be decent weather...fingers crossed. Thanks for inspiring me! Smile

If the weather is too bad, we would gladly take the tickets off your hands. We have been in all weather. Now that I don't have direct access to seasons tickets (one thing I will miss about my old employer), I have to fight for them like everyone else.

Spring is here. I got tired of trying to fold myself in half everytime I get our of our car while in the worlds smallest garage, so I brought all the patio furniture, grill, hoses and everything else that is spring outside to their rightful place. When the short fat bald guy cleans out the garage for the winter, spring is here.

Just when you were about to put to rest any thoughts that it could ever happen in your lifetime...it does. Letters from both David E. Smith and Walt Zlotow in the same edition of the GE News. Thanks Jerry!!

I knew my day wasn't complete, no GE news for Yoss. Frown

The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention.... A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.

That is so cool. I see a hacksaw and some fiberglass in Parker's future.
