I’m sure he is not getting a Volkswagen or Audi since I was roundly criticized for my choice in vehicles…

Why a Volvo?

Not that there's anything wrong with a Volvo, it's just that it's a ....Volvo.

What, me worry?

The new V70.....

When I bought the BMW...sticker price was a tad under $47K.....

To replace it with a similar 5 series wagon....almost $60K. A similarly equipped 3 series wagon....nearly $43K. And BMW isn't known for it's discounts.

The V70 has everything I want/need with the exception of a healthy dose of passion. Sticker is a tad under $40K....with $1,500 cash back and what the dealer will take off....flat $35,000 plus tax. Car looks nice, IMO. My days of $40K+ cars are over. I just need a nice car...no longer interested in statements...mainly because I don't want to pay for them.

Has big tail lights. You know how I like big tail lights.

Lights look like dueling phallic symbols.

Clam, remember who owns Volvo.....Sounds like Volvo of Lisle has turned into every other Ford Dealership Service Department. Remember, Volvo is owned by Ford, and I am sure have adopted their crappy standards in service...

Clam,
Have your kids sat in the back? I loved the V70 until I realized that I would have to get smaller children.

If it were me spending $35K, I'd get the Acura RDX. Great handling, Acura reliability and an awesome 5.1 Dolby stereo.

My kids will never be gigantic in the car's lifetime at my home. I have always had a strong disregard for backseat space as I am never back there...unless I am cleaning. They fit fine in the back of the Mini as far as I am concerned. Big Grin

I have a friend that has one of those...and for some reason I really hate the styling. Also...I will never own an SUV regardless of size. Just don't like the way they drive.
