I don't want to threadjack - Oh wait, this is the threadjacking thread!

My highschooler is home sick today. Started feeling ill last Thursday evening. Fever, aches, sore throat, congestion, coughing. Finally went for strep test yesterday just to be sure (three days of fever accompanies with sore throat is unsual for my kid) and it was negative. I think it's just a virus that seems to take it's sweet time. Should be back tomorrow based on how much she is getting on my nerves today! Razz

Funny. I had my freshman son home Monday and Tuesday last week with a cough and congestion, but no fever. He went to school Wednesday, which is good, because he was on my last nerve. Unfortunately, Wednesday was also his fifteenth birthday, so I had to be nice when he got home. Thursday, back to normal, "get out of here, kid" and "it's not your birthday anymore --- get over yourself". Then, SNOW DAY on Friday. Last night he was dancing around here hoping for another snow day. I told him that it would be his very last day on earth, if it was a snow day. I love my kids, but when they complain, I tell them, "Good luck finding anyone else who'll put up with you!"

I once said to my daughter's fifth grade teacher, "Is there anything worse than a fifth grade girl?" He answered, "Haven't you met a sixth grade girl yet?"

It really helps to know that you're not the only one. Thanks.

I took Friday off from work.

I don't know how my lovely wife does it.

I love my kids more than anything in this world (along with wife), but by late yesterday, I was ready to take my wife, stick her in the car with me, and drive off.

Monday and my return to work couldn't have come soon enough.

Between my 3 1/2 year old CONSTANTLY talking to me asking me questions to my 2 year old CONSTANTLY not listening and whining (put on top of that a foot injury), I was ready to absolutely loose it.

And this frickin weather isn't helping....AT ALL.

So, how bout dem Bears.

This is why Yoss doesn't have kids. I love children, but I recognized in my thirties that I don't have the patience and fortitude required. I'm very content being the favorite uncle who spoils my nieces and spends time with them at family gatherings. I have nothing but admiration for parents that are engaged in their kids lives.

seems like we have the same bug Amy, and not my cute little avatar either.
freshman on meds for sinus
5th grader no strept, treating as a sinus infection due to her worsening condition
8th grader just plain miserable and days behind the girls in illness symptoms

BTW, I'm plain miserable too.

Is Eli Manning married?

Fan - I remember being told that having the third child takes you out of man-to-man defense and makes you play zone from there on out.

We had three in about the same span as you and your wife are and have survived nearly 13 years of it. They do keep you on your toes.

Keep being very nice to your wife - as I do recall that the nearer I was to delivery of the last one - the longer each day seemed!

Sorry-I believe he is engaged to his college sweetheart.

I can see why the ladies are hot for him.

Yoss - would you pretty please post the SNL skit with Tom Brady - "Sexual Harassment and You." I can't do it (admitted luddite) - but if you haven't seen it - it is very funny.

Not the clip you're looking for, GEmom2, but one that probably was echoed last night right after the game.

Not for little old ladies who don't like potty mouths.
