Dunno...

MRS. Perplexed can hear it too, but she hears when I'm watching the Spanish language talk shows (for cultural study only) with the sound almost off.

I could hear it a little on the mp3. It is annoying.

I remember, when I was kid, I would accompany my Dad to a liquor store on occasion that had something emitting a high-pitched noise like that. I asked my Dad what it was and he thought I was off my nut. Used to hear the same thing when shutting off our old TV.

Gee if you knew someone on the school board, the schools could use it to control students!

The high frequency sound emitted by older TVs is 15,734 Hz. ("Cycles per second.") The volume varies from set-to-set... some you can hear across the room, others you have to be up close. Happily, most of us start to lose the ability to hear frequencies that high around 30.

Hmmmmm, what are you implying, Perplexed? Eek

BTW, I think I still have very sensitive hearing because I am ALWAYS telling every member of my family to turn down the TV. Mrs. Perplexed and I would probably have very quiet homes if it was up to us. Smile

I could not heat the sound but my eardrums felt like they were going to pop.

Ever since the day that GlenEllynRing anointed Perplexed the funniest man on the GEBB, I knew that Clamato would lash out at him.

Ladies, ladies, ladies...please no fighting about who is the funniest. Perplexed just seems to have that certain gene se qua when it comes to saying the right thing at the right time...his timing is very good.

There is no reason to fight this out like two schoolgirls after one steals the others Bonnie Bell Lip-smacker. I'm sure there are plenty of folks that think you're both very funny...mothers, grandmothers and great-aunts come to mind. Big Grin

Did you secretly study your sister's Seventeen magazines back in the seventies? This could explain a lot.

Yes, I admit it...read it cover-to-cover under the covers with a flashlight. This MUST be the reason I'm gay. Thanks, Flora...you're very bright.

See, Perplexed would have known that the spelling of that French phrase was a joke, Mr.

All hail Perplexed!

Don't you talk about my sister like that!

See you at the next meeting. I'll be the one crocheting toilet paper cosies in the back of the room. Think you and the other skin heads will notice?
