So what are your thoughts on this Super Tuesday?
Being a moderate conservative, I hope Hillary wins-I think she will be easier to defeat in November. Carpe Diem |

So to bring this back around. I guess the answer is no. |

Great thread...like an evening at my house...action packed fun filled ADD at it's best!
I'm with you Amy....absolutely love John Cusack, Nick Cage is O.K....sense of humor really makes a difference. Love the Mannings...can't stand the Brady...prefer the Favre over all of them! "When you don't know what you are talking about, it's hard to know when you are finished." |

Didn't Eli absolutely refuse to play for the Chargers when the drafted him? That is a flaw in character if you ask me. Even though it worked out better for the Chargers...getting Rivers and a slew of picks...I think that type of action is bush league at best.

Always kills me when I hear media types refer to the "Classy Manning Family". I think after you subvert the draft process to suit your personal whims they need to drop that adjective when describing you.

HEY! This is my 100th post. At this rate I will pass Fan in 2013.

How about Clamato? 2035?
I know though, I'm pathetic...I have significant ADD issues that were never resolved. "If you were the Governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state." |

I figure that I will reach pathetic the first time I post from my Blackberry. |

I will admit to reading this board from my blackberry...I have never posted from it...yet. I will admit to posting to illinois.rivals.com from it however. Like I said, I have problems. MacLatta was right about me. Now back to self-loathing and pity. "If you were the Governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state." |

At the time of the 2004 draft, the Chargers sucked; '00 1-15, '01 5-11, '02 8-8, '03 4-12. Turned it around in '04 though, 12-4. |

GlenEllynite |
Is that relevant? You get drafted by a team that sucks...so you tell them to get bent? Certainly the Classy Manning Family doesn't think this way, do they?

I thought the same thing....proving once against that we are the smartest people on this BB. "If you were the Governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state." |

I don't really get this whole draft thing...I mean, if he didn't want to be a Charger, what's the big deal? Maybe he wanted to be closer to family....I don't know.
Didn't Brees throw for the Chargers right before he went to the Saints? Those Purdue people do good things in the NFL. "The most valuable things in life are not measured in monetary terms. The really important things are not houses and lands, stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust, confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith. " -Bertrand Russell V. Delong |

Yeah, Kyle Orton is awesome. What's the big deal? The draft is a one-way proposition...you aren't supposed to dictate where you get drafted. If you could, that would have made Vietnam very very interesting. [Hi, this is the US Army - we are drafting you into service to fight in Vietnam] [Well, thanks for the call. However, I'm going to go to Amsterdam...thanks] [Okay] "If you were the Governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state." |

Don't forget Jeff George - oh, wait - he transferred to Illinois. |

This is the NFL, not NCAA. You play where you are drafted/sent/told to and get paid a lot of $$$$$ to do so. That move defined his character, IMO. No different than Randy Moss. Closer to family? "If the cap fits, wear it." |
GlenEllynite |
Exactly - it's a business. So, if Manning/Chargers/Giants can make the deal, what's the issue? It makes him a bad guy because he wants a better deal for himself? It's not personel, it's business. And never go against the family. |
GlenEllynite |
So I see Terrelle Pryor has put off his decision. Any predictions? Joe Pa has apparently stepped up his game . . . .

GlenEllynite |
What's wrong with you? Why do you know this stuff? I say tOSU. "If you were the Governor of any other state, you would be a disgrace to that state." |
GlenEllynite |
The salient point here is that the Chargers didn't want to make a deal! They wanted Eli, but when that classy family decided that San Diego wasn't where they wanted their boy to be Poppa Manning let SD know that Eli would not be playing for them. It's happened in the past, ;see Elway, John, but doesn't excuse it. The NFL is built on parity. You've heard the "Any given Sunday" promo and situations like this undermine exactly what makes the NFL so compelling to follow. Bad teams can become good teams in a short time. For a look at the other end of the spectrum take a look at MLB and ask a few Pittsburgh or KC fans how they think their teams will do this year. |
