Since the Bears lost in the last seconds....here is some good news. The mixed squad of Glen Ellyn/Oak Park lacrosse team that I coached with Peter Hamm won the championship tourney this afternoon...shaming a group of Napertucky thugs in the final. Our team was undefeated with an 8-0 overall record.

Thanks to Aiden, Rollin, Jacob, Declan, and Charlie from the GE side for their hard work. And thanks to me for my brilliant strategy leading these kids to victory week after week after week....after week. I truly am a legend.

The fact that you are a legend is no surprise but as a coach, maybe. Congrats to the kids, after all they are the ones who actually played.

Thank you, Shore Thing. I knew that you and Mr. Shore Thing would appreciate the accomplishment. These kids worked their nuggies off and I, for one, admire their hard work week after week.

It needs to be heard. People need to know. Positive news about our young men should certainly trump the expected news of gun play in our Wild West-like hotels.

Yossarian posts an anti-gay thread about Tommy Skilling's sexuality days ago, Clam, I mean, JR defends Yoss. The thread is appropriately deleted by the administrator Ted (I have screen snapshots) and now JR changes his avatar to Skilling. You coach young men's lacrosse? How sad! How very, very sad!

Thanks Ted. I'm glad the thread "disappeared" regardless of who was responsible. I appreciate the clarification.

Shrugged-I asked Ted to delete the thread because I really didn't want to get into with you, but evidently you can't let go of an opportunity to grandstand. You even took screen shots; I am flattered to say the least. Fact of the matter is my attempt at making fun of Skillings glasses was not funny and poorly conceived. Me, homophobic, hardly.

I can't help but wonder if we are seeing with you a phenomenon know in counseling as "projection", where you are taking your own insecurities and demons and projecting them on others. My suggestion to you is to work on yourself, and stop thinking that you know others thoughts & intentions.

I coach them to hate the young men (technically...they are boys) on the opposing team. So, in a sense, I am encouraging certain homophobic behaviors...yes. BTW, I passed an FBI and Ill. Stae Police background check in order to be involved with LaxAm. AND....I have more gay friends and acquaintances than most. The ultimate in intolerant behavior...using that quote.

If you are a man, shrugged, I would suggest that you grow a pair. If you're a woman...not certain what to suggest. What I do suggest is since there is a shortage of coaches for lacrosse and an overabundance of players...that you join me on the sidelines and make certain that I am teaching GE's children the proper values that they deserve. Oh...did I ever mention that I don't believe in God? That could be a problem, too. It has never come up with any of the kids that I have coached...or my own children for that matter...but you never know . You may be right about me after all.

I called Yoss an old homophobe from way back because that is what he is...an old homophobe from way back. It's no secret that Yoss and I share utter contempt for one another. Can't stand each other. Your contention that I of all people support Yoss and his ultra-right wing hateful ways is ludicrous. The avatar...simply a poke at the skunk. But it is a good avatar...so it may stay.

BTW, what the heck do you do for 15+ hours per week? I hope you're doing a better job than I am. Although...I have never had one parent complain about my all-inclusive coaching style.
