Here's what I think happened --

I got an email a week or so ago from the message board service provider announcing an upgrade. Among other things, they spoke of a new "automated archiving" option (after a certain number of days).

I proactively changed nothing... but -- like yourself -- noticed that old posts soon disappeared. Seems that "automated archiving" was not only automagically implemented, but also "automated pruning."

At the moment, I think all the old stuff is thus gone forever, but I'll poke around some more to see if it's simply hiding...

This is an unexpected problem. I was looking for an thread about insurance agents in GE, because I need a recommendation, and prefer not to reinvent the wheel.
I didn't have any luck with the site search function either.
Any idea whether the "archive" will be located?

Sorry -- it appears that the "archives" of three months ago (or more) are gone forever. I've toggled the default so that -- in theory -- it won't happen again.

Our insurance guy is Kurt Buchholz... yes, the same Kurt who's on the Park District Board and who contributes frequently to this message board.

State Farm. Office on the second floor near the Glen Theatre. 469-1760.

Always done good by us...

Thanks for repeating the recommendations - I appreciate it. Our agent just moved out of GE to Naperville, and for whatever reason (irrational or otherwise, hmm - rational?) we just want our agent to be local.

I would also recommend John Hoffman. Very good man and trustworthy. Born and raised in town, now raising his own family here.
