I always like Ted's headlines since he is subtly trying to make some commentary on what's going on. Either on the board, in GE, or in the rest of the world. So reading his excerpt from Abe Lincolns first inaugural got me to thinking. Thirty days after giving that speech Fort Sumter was fired upon and the country began its bloodiest, costliest war. So a lot of good that speech did. And you would be surprised how many people still blame him for that war. Four years later Lincoln would give what one Historian calls the most depressing speech ever given by an American politician in his second inaugural. And thirty days after that get assassinated. Sometimes you just can't win. | ||
