I saw that a sign went up for a new restaurant in the in process Crowne Plaza on Roosevelt.

Sign looks pretty nice. Restaurant is named "Glen Prairie".

Noticing the location of the "Welcome to Glen Ellyn" sign, does this hotel/restaurant count as a Glen Ellyn business or is this Lombard's?

That corner is GE.

The Glen Ellyn Crowne Plaza Hotel checked its first guest in this morning (8/1/08) at 9 am!

Work continues to open the restaurant and lounge, the Glen Prairie, by next Wednesday (8/6/08), and the meeting rooms which already have bookings.

The former Holiday Inn was transformed to the new state of the art Crowne Plaza using green technology throughout the conversion. Guest rooms are remarkably quiet and insulated from the noise of Roosevelt Road. The choice of colors, textures, lighting, and amenities are beautifully coordinated. The new hotel is nothing short of gorgeous!

Just what does that mean?

Wow, this place sounds nicer than my house!

The website now says, 'Glen Ellyn-Lombard'

A hyphenated town. Is that sorta like a marriage?

Did they replace the old hotel with an exact replica? It still has the same 70's/80's floor to ceiling windows and curtains. And would I pay a premium to be on the south facing side with the beautiful view of parking lots, the Mobil gas station, and the 16 hour a day Roosevelt parade of cars?

Monday the 4th was the first time that we noticed anyone there, the restaurant looked open to us. However I must say one thing that they didn't think to do when they renovated...Put in a generator when the power goes out...Just like tonight during the storm.
