I went into P.S Flowers yesterday, on Hillside, thinking it was a different store. Didn't there used to be a home decor/antiquey place there? And didn't P.S. Flowers used to be somewhere else? Or am I hallucinating?
Whatever the case, I went in looking for some nice holiday decorations and found exactly what I was looking for, so that's good. It's so funny - Glen Ellyn used to be awash in nice home decor stores and now it seems as if we don't have anything. Schmid's carries about 1/3 of the stock they used to. So even though I went in there by mistake - I think - I was happy to spend some hard-earned $$ locally.
I've never actually been into the store location, but I can tell you that their delivery service is fantastic and their flower arrangements are beautiful. Glad you found what you needed....was this a part of the LNO?
Btw, you were a topic of dicussion at The Book Store when I snagged your book off the shelf and asked my mom to buy it for me for Christmas, lol.

I think I just answered my own question thanks to Google - Vintage Living used to be at that location. Still, I did find some beautiful things at PS Flowers, so I'm happy.
If you ever want me to sign a copy of ALICE, GESingleMom2, just let me or The Bookstore know! They call me in from time to time because people request that. And, you know - signed books make great Christmas presents! And the paperback of ALICE I HAVE BEEN releases on December 21st, just in time!
And books, period, make great Christmas or Chanukah presents. I just asked The Bookstore to hold a copy of Laura Hillenbrand's UNBROKEN for me because I want to get it for my dad.
(Now back to our regularly scheduled topic.)
Oh - and no, not part of LNO as I'm a maverick who doesn't like to follow the crowd. I shop when I want to, I tell you! No one can tame me!
If I recall correctly, P.S. Flowers was on Hillside some time ago. Then they moved to Wheaton, and now they are back in GE. I sure hope I am correct, becasue getting old is kinda sucking in the memory department.
You are correct Buggy - no worries! P.S. Flowers used to be in the storefront just west of its present location on Hillside. Really happy it is back - great store!
but I can tell you that their delivery service is fantastic and their flower arrangements are beautiful
I think the reason their delivery service is so very fantastic is because everything she sells is made of silk. No problems with cold or heat. Wait . . . strike that . . . there is no delivery service.
She is a wonderful woman and G.E. is lucky to have her back in her old neighborhood.

Thanks If I get a copy for Christmas, I'll let you know! Otherwise, it'll have to wait til I can get one for myself (probably January). I'll cherish it when you've moved on from us local folk and become an international writing superstar....
As for the shopping thing, it's far more fun to do it with a bunch of other slightly-tipsy ladies
Clam, what are you talking about? My friend received REAL flowers and right on time when I ordered from PS Flowers....
