Crossing my chubby fingers in hopes that they ripped out those red booths and replaced them with tables.

Not as of 2:15 p.m. today. They were painting so maybe they're waiting for that to be completed before bringing new furniture. I've e-mail the owner, (that's how I found out about the opening date) and suggested this BB as a venue for getting some buzz out for free, as of this writing he has not followed my advice.

What's with the redwood deck stain on the exterior? Doesn't look very nice.

EPub communicated here with us BBers and looked what happened. Frown

I would feel very special if I as a BBer received a special invitation for opening night. In fact, it would give me a whole heck of a lot of reason to become a loyal customer.

The color seperates the business from the rest of the building, while still staying in the brown color range. What, did you think the idiots at the village would let them put on a color that would really stand out? The Tap House will be lucky to get their name on the building (other than the signs on the windows)the village idiots - as I will now refer to them as - don't want to ruin the track record they have going by actually having businesses succeed in this town.

Moon-Will you be working there? I take it there will be little, if any changes to the interior.

By the way, is that nail shop just north of the Tap House now closed as well? Yet another one falls...

just for grins, i googled "soho pubs" and here is one of the imgaes that popped up

is that GE or london?

in truth, this doesn't do real justice to the beautifully, colorful pub fronts you see in GB. McNally's in St. Charles and Elmhurst come close to emulating it locally. too bad the V of GE won't allow it here. don't know why. especially since the brits have figured it out. and isn't downtown GE primarily tudor in design? i think it'd be cool to color things up. . . like a walk through Soho.

I saw the Tap House in its new coat of paint...or stain. Didnd't look too bad. Of course, the red door now has gotta go. It don't match at all.

The red door is one of the things that makes the place stand out. I'm surprised that the village idiots allowed it in the first place; after all, it does seem to go against their whole idea of keeping this place (downtown G.E.) in the here and now. I say, add a disco ball and Elvis impersonators.
