Recently visited the New Egg harbor in wheaton. Not too bad, but I'm not sure its worth all the hype. Food was tasty and a little expensive. Room a little noisy and service pretty much what you'd expected from a breakfast restaurant. I'd go back but not in any big hurry. We've been going to Danby's Station since it opened.
Quality and price are a good value and easy to get to....Service seems more welcoming than most. Like I said we liked Egg Harbor, but not sure its worth the trip looking for a place to park.

Egg Harbor has never been worth the money you pay.

Then instead of complaining, as usual & no surprise on this board, where is worth the money for breakfast?

White Castle. Can't beat a few sliders and a box of nails.

Following Egg Harbor's move from the south side, we have visited it twice, and that's where our patronage will end. It is much louder inside, the portion sizes are almost half what they were a year back, and the food now seems very uninspired. Eggclectic has won back our business - yet we are searching for an even better option (with larger postion sizes).

Not trying to complain, or stir the pot. I'm assuming this is a more informational type of board now. Egg Harbor was fine. Obviously w/ 11 restaurants they do something right. My preference for the value, product and price is Danbys.
Nice atmosphere and great coffee.....thats all.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. My wife will tell you that my birthday dinner every other year is breakfast. The more cholesterol the better. My breakfast favorites are:

Juicy-O next to Kohl's. Apple and Cheddar Omelette that my kids love. Breakfast sliders. Sugar donuts for appetizers.

Egglectic if I want to spend.

Danby's stepped up their product when they changed over from Z's.

Glen Oak is reliable and comfortable.

The Verdict on County Farm and Roosevelt.

Ironically, I went to Egg Harbor on Sunday. Buffet table eggs benedict (eggs Arlington) complete with dried Hollandaise. My wife likes the crepes.

This is all opinion - anyone can agree or disagree. That's the beauty of it!

My husband really likes Egg Harbor - I think it's OK.
I like Glen Oak - he thinks it's OK.

We both like Olde North Pancake House but it's more of a drive and with so many choices so close, we don't often go very far for breakfast.

Juicy-O's near Kohl's is the best breakfast place in these parts, IMHO. I wish we had something like it closer to home. Glen Oak is OK, but nothing really special. Same with Danby's.

If you want a longer drive, though, Moondance Diner in Westmont is terrific - and surprisingly cheap. Their blueberry/granola crunch pancake with a side of bacon will cost you under 5 bucks, and the pancake is as big as your head.

Don't discount the good ol' Village Links for great pancakes at a reasonable price. Sitting outside is nice...

Wow, didn't know Village Links did breakfast 4MP. Good breakfast menu? (been there for Friday Fish Fry, but that's about it).

We have taken to Butterfield's in Rice Lake Square lately. They have the best coffee around, and great fresh squeezed OJ. Interesting menu items, including a chicken hash with lots of mixed veggies and a veg. only hash. They have nice outdoor seating too.

We love Egglectic too...not sure why people think it is pricey??? It's good quality and it seems just about like other breakfast places around here, price-wise.

I'm hoping we can make Honey our regular place to go!

I hate going out to breakfast. But when I am forced to do so...I prefer not going to the Glen Oak. I prefer not going to the Glen Oak ever...for any meal. But that's me.

Good, but not extensive, Ring. VERY basic - eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffles, hash browns - that type of thing... Stuff you could make at home as some in this post clearly prefer. But if its a nice morning and you don't want a crowd...the Links is pretty enjoyable!

Are you really my husband going by an alias? I swear you remind me so much of him. I think we have to get together for a drink - I'll bring my husband, you bring Parker and we'll have a great time. I think you two will get along...could be scary though. I don't know if I can handle that much sarcasm!

Your kids would first have to stop yelling "Clam!!" in public whenever they see me. The general public does not like Clamato.
