That might be difficult to control. They really like the name even if they don't like the drink. Smile I'll ask them to refrain and we'll see how it goes.

Grandma Sally's is good, DTM. Haven't been there in a while. I know that big apple pancake thing is supposed to be all the rage and takes a while to get when you order it, right?

Amy - Please tell me more about the Olde North Pancake House. My husband and I drove by it the other day and wondered who was eating there and how it managed to last so long at that location. What's the scoop?
Thanks.

Best blueberry pancakes ever. Worst well water in the history of restaurantism. As my kids say..."this stuff smells like gas"...and not the petroleum kind. Can't really tell if you're drinking coffee....but don't order any pop. Eek

Haven't been there in 25 years, when we used to come from the big city to the farmlands of St. Charles to visit my brother. I recall that their omelettes were baked. And huge. Same?

Blueberry Hill on Eola (and other places) is also great. Owned by Alfie's people.

Thanks Clam - That's sure to be a hit with the kids! I will have to weigh my enjoyment of blueberry pancakes with tolerance of methane-y water. Hmmmm. . . what to do.

Have the kids drink the coffee. Boy...those were some top-notch BB pancakes. And if I'm complimenting them, that's something. I think the most inept of us can make breakfast food.

Don't forget to bring your dog!

Yes, I'll consider the source - no sarcasm there. I really do love blueberry pancakes. Also, Clam, I intend to begin bringing my cat to all park district events and watching the fun that ensues. We love her and she's like part of the family. YouTubers bring your cameras to record some crazy critter antics!

My mom absolutely loves the potatoe pancakes like no other...we go about twice a month and meet up with any other siblings or grandkids who can make it on any given Saturday about 7:00AM. I agree with the water remarks....uuuughhhh...juice or coffee.

Ronkas and scribbler are right on with Juicy O's too, over by the Kohl's on Finley...excellent breakfast menu.

The last time I went to Blueberry Hill on Eola it was filthy. Drive by a couple of weeks ago and it looks like it was closed.

We like Olde North for several reasons:
1. Very tasty pancakes.
2. If you sit by the windows, you can watch all the birds on the birdfeeders.
3. Stepping inside is like taking a step back in time.

I've never consumed the water - only have coffee and the kids get milk or juice. Their skillets are pretty tasty too but not remarkable. Nonetheless, it's just a very old fashioned place that we enjoy.
