If you haven't been to this relatively new place in Wheaton, check it out. It had a good crowd tonight and we enjoyed our meals very much. Wine List was fairly extensive and pretty reasonably priced. We asked about their cheese platter and ordered that. Small plate serves two to four (though several items came in twos so if four people were sharing, they'd miss out on some things) and was $12. You get to select from several categories: Fruit, cheese, olives or nuts, bread, and meats. We selected a Druken Goat cheese, A Stilton cheese, apples and some fig loaf thing, blue cheese stuffed olives and kalmata olives, prosciutto (they slice it fairly thick), and a nice salami. It was all served over mixed greens. Then, I ordered their prosciutto wrapped shrimp on a skewer with a strong lemon overtone (very tasty), and served with bread and polenta, $14. My husband had a personal pizza with prosciutto, artichokes, and mushrooms, $11. It was all very tasty and reasonably priced. We want one in GE!

We visited Muldoon's in Wheaton last night, parking right across the streeet from the Cellar Bistro. It is a popular place because it's always packed in there.

I don't know anyone in Wheaton who actually goes to Muldoon's anymore. It seems to attract a crowd for the music; it certainly can't be the food.
Likewise, my one experience with Cellar Bistro was not good. It was cold out, though, and we were too close to the door. Being cold doesn't add to the dining experience. Then my first two meal choices were sold out and what I did get was quite forgettable. It was also so dark I couldn't read the menu. I suppose I'll have to give them another try sometime. I do want them to succeed!
CAGEYM, they have an outer, canvas vestibule at the Cellar Bistro which I think wasn't there before....so maybe that solved the draft problem????
It is a tad dark in there - my husband and I agreed that they could turn up the lights just a little and it would make all the difference. Our food, however, was quite delicious.

The vestibule thingee was in place, but hadn't solved the problem. I think they were just really trying to conserve heat. The landlord probably charges them a premium for it; he's notorious.
