Follow up to my posts about Rico's pizza in Lansing, IL:
Saturday morning, I received the nicest email from the daughter of the original owner of Rico's. They found this message board during a search for "rico's pizza" on the web and read the Arvati's thread. Later yesterday, got a voicemail from the original owner as well.
I have probably met the father and daughter over 100 times at the place and never thanked them for the best pizza ever made, one that we judge all others by. But my thanks to them is found on a message board for a completely different town. The internet is a great tool sometimes. It always pays to say nice things on the internet.
In the next few weeks, I will have something on my site as another thank you to the best pizza place on earth. So keep checking here.
And while you are waiting, take an evening, get the kids in the minivan and head on down to Lansing and order one up. Then go over to Lan Oak Park, sit down on a park bench with a bottle of RC cola and plenty of napkins and devour the best pizza you will ever have. Make sure to tear off the little coupon because you don't know how fast you will eat 11 others to get that free medium with 12 coupons!
They only sell RC at the place, but yes, Coke is an excellent choice.
this weekend, the pizza went very well with the Margaritaville Landshark Ale. Good beer that stuff is. Not a big clear beer guy, but this is a solid ale.
