I see Dr. Dan Gerwig at Absolute Healthcare. He's at Park and Pennsyvlvania and the office number is 630-790-1422. He's helped me with a bad hip (bursitis) and neck and shoulder pain. My posture has improved and I'm walking an hour a day. He's also helped my kids with sports related injuries.

My chiropractor is in Bloomingdale, but he is the best one I've been to yet and I've been under chiropractic treatment for about 17 years.

Also, if you're more into natural and wholistic treatments, my neighbor is a licensed wholistic physician and is also a licensed chiropractor.

PM me if you're interested in either.

Thanks for all of the replies! Hubby and I could both use some help, and the little nugget has had some ear infection issues. I just read a study that indicates chiropractic care for babies reduces frequency & duration of infections. Thanks again!

was the study sponsored by the Chiropractor Research Institute? Seriously, I know many people that have been helped with back/neck/other joint pains. But ear infections? I would love to see some independent research on that.

Seriously, you would let a chiro treat your kid for an ear infection?

There is tons of research on it, DTM. I'll get back to you with some references.

Chiropractic is the manipulation of the spine and all nerves are connected to the spine, correct? Does it not stand to reason that when undue pressure is put on a nerve, it could have adverse reactions to other parts of your body (given that everything is connected)?

A little bit of education goes a long way in this lifetime.

My chrio treated my kid with cronic sinusitus not that it cured him, but it sure did help with the discomfort. But wait, there may of been accupunture involved.

Ear infections are caused by viruses and bacteria--not nerve compression.
I would be very careful about what types of treatments/procedures are performed on a child.

Furthermore, one can probably find "research" to support pretty much any hypothesis out there. One needs to analyze the study, it's power, number in study, what type of statistical analysis was done.

Chiropractic care is very useful and beneficial for certain conditions..but certainly not every medical condition.

Some sinus and ear issues are related to food allergies, not just viruses and bacteria, so the use of antibiotics is overrated. Chiropractic care helps a person remain in a healthy state without the side effects of drugs. It doesn't "cure" anything anymore than most drug therapy "cures" what ails ya...but it can be used to promote a healthier lifestyle and increasing blood flow to your entire body does help it heal itself.

gemom1, I hadn't intended to make it seem as if it would cure a viral or bacterial condition....but it can definitely help with the symptoms, which is pretty much what most Western medication-based treatments do anyway.

Basically....what little said Smile
