[QUOTE]And also figure out a way of helping these people break the cycle of receiving, from what I hear from a couple of volunteers, "kick @ss" dinners and breakfasts...warm beds...and get them the training and resources they need to get their lives turned around.
To quote lyricist John Barlow: "You ain't gonna learn what you don't want to know"

I am totally in favor of demolishing the Banyan Tree mall. But I do not own it.

You stole my idea...just like you stole BB's sit and talk about what is wrong with the Village idea. BB, hate to rain on your parade, but every party I've been to in the last 9 months has seemed to use that theme.
Good luck though. In my opinion though, we have way too many groups organizing right now and should all be focusing our collective energies together. Maybe you should talk to the Downtown Alliance, GoDowntown or just call Chief Norton. For all the crap he's gotten and for some of the philosophical differences we have, he's very responsive and will sit and talk with any concerned resident.
I just think that you have a legitimate concern and should be going straight to the top instead of sitting around having more meetings than necessary. You know what they say about having too many cooks in the kitchen.

I am now simply all about the aesthetic beauty and upkeep of our CBD. After a wise man pointed out to me that I will never change my consumer ways...nor will anyone else, it really doesn't matter what the hell shows up down there. I just want it to look purty when I walk my dog through it...and go to SBUX....and Vitorio's.
