Anyone notice the big orange STOP WORK sticker on the door of the Gratto? Is this a village sticker (can't read the small writing while I drive by) ordering the stoppage? If you are walking by or can actually read it while driving by, please post up.

I walked by in the early evening on Jan 13 and the sticker was there, whilst some carpenters worked away inside.

It was issued by the Village building dept, and had something to do w/ "work w/o permit" or "work not on approved plans" or similar. Sorry don't recall exactly.

Situation was resolved. Not sure why the sticker is still there.

Who is this J.R.B. guy? How did you just show up all of a sudden and have almost 13,000 posts? How did you get Clam's avatar? What have you done with clam? If you've replaced him are you nicer?

I think it's the James Rollins Band, he's Henry's little brother

I meant J.R.B. He seems like he's got useful information to offer. And seems well informed about village goings-on.

Entirely wrong. You have a suspicious mind!

Noticed they removed only a select few of the FIGO decals, put up some new gold border decals with some words, hours, etc., and cleaned all the windows. Looks as if they are going to retain the Figo name, does anyone know? If so, first misstep IMO.

Is the Figo name etched into the glass? Looks like it. So they prolly have to replace the glass.

No one is going to throw that much money into a build out and keep the name of one of the worst eateries to grace GE in the past 15 years.

Yes, it looks as if it is etched onto the outside surface. What is odd is that they added "new" decals to the corner window around one of the "Figo"s. Why would you do if you were taking down the window? Unless the installer screwed up. Replacing those 5 panes is worth getting rid of the name.

Wow, the place looks absolutley terrific. They even got pics of Dino and Sinatra in the joint - much like another place in town I know. When are they scheduled to open?

I noticed on their facebook page that "kids eat free Sunday through Wed". That's a jackpot for half the posters on this BB. Don't you agree, Ted? Wink

Drove by today and there were people in there eating. They had a sign at the door that they were having a soft opening.
