Not appreciated, Clam. Neither funny nor true.

Starting a new discussion is always preferable to going off topic, and no, there is no additional cost to me when GEBBers exercise proper ”netiquette.“

It was suggested that I use that as my signature line. FWIW, I hear that from my wife all the time.

Went to the Gratto last night. They do need shades or something on the West facing windows - it became very warm in the seats we had along that window.

The waitress was a bit of a goof but very friendly and attentive to the right degree.

Food was good! I LOVED my Gnocci Portobello and my co-diner ordered the Lamb Chops. Nice portions, well presented. All in all, a good experience. I'm sure we'll go back.

Well . . . their martinis cost $12.00, AT LEAST.

Restaurants are in the business of selling food and pleasing customers. I have a friend who routinely orders a dish that is not on the menu at another Italian restaurant in town. The other restaurant gleefully makes the dish and he gladly pays for it. That's the business of selling food. You can go into pretty much any restaurant in the world and make special requests. If that line really is on the menu, must be meant tongue in cheek. Someone needs to get a black Sharpie and cross that off their menus.

I just wish they would fix those eyesore, bubbly gold window stickers. There is no way that was the owner's intent. He should go back and tell the window folks they screwed up. If they plan on staying there permanently, they should lose the temporary solution.

I've heard many funny/sad stories about the terrible service at Gratto. We only went once; service was OK, as was the food. Felt no urgency to ever go back, but likewise wouldn't mind it if we did. Very ho-hum, in other words. Too many other fine options in the area for this one to make it into our regular rotation.
