Ok, so this is the last time I will talk about this place....I'm totally lying.

Despite that I was with an ex last night, I had an amazing evening at Bistro Monet. I have officially found my favorite restaurant in GE. The food in this place was unlike anything I've ever had....I know it's been a while since I've had any, but this is hands-down the best French cuisine I've ever consumed!

Mmmm....

Lmao @ Flora....I was referring to french food.

Proud Hubby and I also chose Bistro Monet for our Valentine's Day dinner; we've never been before, either. Proud Hubby does not like French cuisine. (We have a deal; he hates French food, I love it; I hate Indian food, he loves it. So we don't go to Indian or French places.) Except for last night, when he made the sacrifice.

I loved the food, but whether or not we'll go back anytime soon I can't say. Again, we have that deal. But if we didn't, Bistro Monet would definitely be in our rotation!

Not only is the food awesome, but they pay very close attention to detail.

BTW - tomorrow night they are hosting a Mardi Gras Mixer featuring spicy shrimp, crawfish etouffee and cajun chicken to name a few.

Scribbler: I so wish you didn't have that deal with Proud Hubby....so sad to have to miss out on such an amazing and sensual experience as french cuisine is. I'm glad to hear that he sucked it up and took you there to celebrate, though Smile

BB: Yes! The pleasant woman at the doorway informed me of that celebration as we were leaving.

The attention to detail is definitive as well. The presentation of the food was fantastic and each and every employee stayed on top of our wants and needs. I LOVE that they speak French as well, I'm always looking for an excuse to use it Smile

Of course, it helps that I found our server highly attractive, lol....

P.S.
Your Camus-esque baby photo cracks me up!

Bernard?

We did the Julia Child night too. It was toatally awesome. They also hosted a dinner night based on the movie "Bottle Shock". I like that he mixes it up, maintains our interest.

I don't recall his name, but he was relatively younger-looking when compared to many of the others working there.

Yes, his attitude about changing things around there is exactly what a town like ours needs to keep the regulars coming back! Variety IS the spice of life, they say!

They based a night on "Bottle Shock?" Hmmm - we saw that movie, could definitely see a dinner built around it. I did put my name on the email list, so hopefully I will be able to convince Proud Hubby to try it again.

Hey thanks for the complement! He is a family member of mine! We're all so proud.

Love Bistro Monet. We actually get take out all the time. I always wanted to know if we were the only one to ever get take out there becuase whenever we call, they say "This is for Bry, isn't it?" Their Fois Gras is amazing and even when put in an aluminum container, it tastes just as good as if it was plated on an Apilco plate. Tasty place, a GE gem.

All this talk is making me want to try them again. We loved Le Deux Grois (sp?) but had two very salty and disappointing tries at Monet. Maybe three is the charm. Smile

Very close....it's Gros, I believe.

Let's hope three's a charm, I say try it again *nods emphatically*.
