Doesn’t he know he is supposed to shoot the ducks and not the guy working the booth?

IIRC, they hire them to operate the carvival rides.

Good one Dinsdale! I am looking for a serious respones. Because if something is done for this weekend then why can't it be done on a permanent basis?

Hey everyone! I just saw Superman at the fest. Not Ironman, but Superman! Incredible!

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year,
Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

My family and I visited the Taste three times this weekend - once for the YMCA 5K, and twice for general enjoyment of rides, food and music. I have to say I'm very pleased to live in a town where I can walk to a nice little festival like this. Not to mention the Boat Regatta, the 4th of july parade, etc.

I truly enjoy living in Glen Ellyn - sure, like any place, there are ups and downs, but I like it here and would argue that it's one of the nicer places to live in the Chicago suburbs.

3..2..1... here come the cynics.

on another note - and this is simply an observation, It's remarkable to me, after visiting the Taste, how little "street carnivals" have changed since I was a kid. same rides, same funnel cakes, same music, same games, same carnies. it's like they are all frozen in 1980. I'm not complaining, it's actually kind of charming.

Same oil from the 80's in the deep fryer. Eek

My husband and I planned on going twice, but just as we were staring our walk up on Sat. the clouds/and or rain started. We headed back and went somewhere else for dinner. Looked out the restaurant window at the rain and stated -that could have been us in that rain.

Walked up Sunday, enjoyed Tap House Grill booth, wanted to try Chicks 'n Salsa and Prime Meat but husband wasn't hungry any more. Enjoyed the band. Not fond of the tunes but nonetheless they were very good musicans and I appreciate that. Actually from my house I heard most of the bands and music all day and evening. Taste was very good this year. Village did a good job. Love that Dippin Dots!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I sleep better knowing that GE's own Superman is here to protect us. Although he strikes me as a bit scrawny for a Man of Steel.
