I am looking for a store or any location really, that selld middle eastern attire. I need a hip scarf/sash for Belly Dancing (they have little coins/beading on them) and I don't know where to look. I was thinking the French Market might have a stand or the Swap Mart on North Avenue. If anyone knows of a location that sells this sort of thing, I would really, really appreciate it!
If you get a middle eastern scarf... please make sure it's not one of those "terrorist" scarfs. The Republicans will do to you what they did to Rachel Ray.
I'm not sure where, here in Illinois, you can buy ethics....but as far as Middle Eastern attire, I think there are a couple of stores on Roosevelt in Lombard, I'm thinking the north side of the street, just west of Main St.
There is a place over here in Glendale Heights by my work, near Joseph's pizza, (good pizza by the way) on Bloomingdale. Give me a minute, I'll get you a name, address and number. I'm getting a pizza tonight maybe I'll get the name and number. In the meantime, in my searching - Craig's list has a listing for an upcoming event - 9/14 at the Ramada Inn, Glendale Heights, I'm unsure if clothing and stuff will be sold but who knows - Craig's list Eid Bazaar
There is a store in Stratford mall - upper level but can't remember exact location- that has them but according to my daughter they are not as nice as the ones that her dance instructor has. I was thinking about getting her a hip scarf for Christmas so let me know what you find.

I have a belly-dancer scarf purchased in Egypt that I would be happy to loan you. Contact me at mirmamac@wideopenwest.com if you want to borrow it.

Thank you very much, but I really want to buy one for myself. That way I can practice at home. Thanks for the thought though! And thank you lupechennel, I will check out that store!
