Clam-ironically my running group is going to test out Wright socks on our Sunday long run. We give them feedback on how we like them and we get to keep the socks. If you want to run 8 miles-then you can pretend you are me
Maybe if you blast some good rocking music and pass out Gatorade to the other runners...but you might into a problem getting your car onto the Prairie Path.
Hyoog-you can run in those huh? They are the silliest looking things! I've been seeing a Chrio though and he keeps commenting how the best thing is to run barefoot.
I got a pair of Five Fingers a few months ago and I'm still increasing my mileage in them (up to about 10 miles now). You can't really do big miles at first, but over time they make a big difference. They basically force your body to learn to run the way it was meant to. Human's biomechanics have basically been completely screwed up by running shoes with too much padding and support. Five Fingers help re-engage muscles that most runners don't use as much (hence all the injuries).
RH - yes, those are injinji socks. I've been using those for years in regular running shoes. They help reduce blistering b/c your toes don't touch.
