Laws require police who will, I don't know, pull their car over and get out in order to enforce said laws. It's a little difficult to enforce when your day consists of driving in circles around town.

Some friends you have! Have you been to church there on Thursday night? I'll save you a mattress.

This was a classic! I was going to stop in Einsteins today. As I approached the store I noticed Mrs. Smokes out front puffing away while holding her bike, backpack and 500 or so shopping bags full of whatever. As I got closer, I noticed her twin sister inside with an equal amount of crap (less the bike) piled sky high on the table next to her adjacent to the coffee bar. Yum! that made me soooo extra hungry I almost didn't notice vomit gurgling up in the back of my throat.

Amy I want my shirt to say:

I will supply all the garbage bags, brooms and other needs if we can supply the manpower for 3-4 hours one Saurday or Sunday. This might increase the awareness of the rest of the community to some of the interesting and insightful comments and solutions proposed here and change some people's opinion that we are just grumpy naysayers.

How about it? What day works for everyone? April 5-6th, April 12-13th.

May not solve the problem at large, but it will make a statement and show that we care beyond words.

Rob, lets plan on the 12th and 13th. Next week is Easter and the week after that is spring break. Even if your not leaving town, I am , I am going somewhere else to check out their sidewalks for a week for a change of view.
At that point I am presenting Clam with his new Stihl BG-85 and Eunuch with his own personalized garbage bags.

Joe, do you want our sidewalks scraped, power washed, or both?

I have the solution!

Tell Officer Perez that he can now chalk and ticket anything or anyone who is standing idle on Village Property for more than 2 hours at a time.

You guys are kidding about cleaning up, aren't you? Isn't the Village concerned about someone getting hurt and suing them? <tongue in cheek>

I think we should do the cleanup Sunday afternoon (the 13th) - say meet around 2pm at Prairie Path Park? Then, we can clean, collect, and sweep up the CBD wearing our color-coordinated shirts. With the PADS presence, maybe a few of them will get the idea that we like things a little cleaner! We can plan to meet for drinks at Tap House by 4- 4:30 (God, I hope it doesn't take that long!) and pub crawl if everyone is up for that. We can hit Santa Fe, Shannon's, Curly's, Vittoro's (if they're open), wherever people want to go. Set aside the whole afternoon/evening and have your family help out too!

I am serious that I want to do this.

We really do need shirts and press. Come on, let's get a slogan that gets to the point but is a little on the positive side too. Once we have a slogan, I can take shirt orders and we'll get 'er done!

No chance in hell you will see me outside at 2:00 pm on the 13th.

I'm not stuck on the 13th. Candidate picked that one. I'm OK with the 27th - cleanup weekend - as Ohma suggested too. Would that be better? I'm not into golf, so I wouldn't know. Roll Eyes

Yigo - I'll let you know. T-shirt party sounds like fun! Big Grin

Hi,

We are out of town for the 11th-13th. We could help out if it were another weekend such as the 27th.

Good point. What good would the blower be with cars in the way. Wink

I like the 27th at 7:00 AM. The only drawback I see is the baseball parade the day before. It could be godawful downtown. Anyone with a problem with an early morning start could buy drinks later.

Rob - you finally got me out of lurking mode with this one. I'll be there on the 27th. I too couldn't make it on the 13th.

I find the 27th to be too late...not to mention the day we have to make the trek to get our puppy. I will be doing some vigilante cleaning prior to that with my new village-provided Stihl BG 85. Any other weekend...and I'm in.
