I know this was discussed before but could not find it. My daughter needs a few pairs of pants hemmed- any recommendations? The cleaners we used last time hemmed her pants too short and she doesn't want to go back there.

Joe's in the shopping center just north of Yorktown Mall (near Land's End) does outstanding work. They are a little pricey, but well worth the expense. Did you turn the pants that were too short into crop pants?

I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world.

I've always used Joe's for important stuff...the dry cleaners by Bistro Monet for unimportant stuff (like band uniforms).

Good luck with the tailor on Duane. I called them and left a message regarding what I needed done to a christening outfit, never got a call back. Outstanding customer service. I used the tailor next to Starbucks in downtown Wheaton for my wedding dress. He was reasonable and awesome. That was 6 years ago though!

We called the place next to Starbucks in Wheaton because someone said they used them and they wanted 15 bucks per pair of jeans and dear daughter needed 5 pairs hemmed. I did not feel the need to spend $75 on hemming pants so I called around and found a place on Hale in Wheaton that charged $9 per pair- She is short but not that short... a couple of pairs needed to have 5 inches trimmed off....I don't know who they make them for but I am tired of seeing her walk on the back of her pants and then have that worn out fringe at the bottom of the leg- it always looks messy- so I guess I will be getting all of her pants hemmed.
The pair that were hemmed to short were never worn. You know how teenagers are. I think we gave them to good will.

I agree, $15 is too much!

The tailor on Duane has been great for us too but I think they are from "zee old country" so maybe the whole phone call thing is a bit daunting for them???? They were cheap too. I'd drop by if you're around town Mrs.Speech.

We dropped the jeans off this morning at the place on Hale in Wheaton. If they do a good job we will stick with them- every place else I called charged 12-15 bucks per pair.
