I need a place with good food somewhere in the area. We want to be able to take our time as well as hear each other speak as it is a friends night of sorts. Any suggestions? One of the diners is vegetarian.

Lots of places nearby. One of the nicest & quietest is Glen Prairie, on Roosevelt Rd. (part of the Crowne Plaza.) Very soothing & quiet space, great food, locally grown. They have vegetarian and gluten-free offerings.

Cabs is good, too, but can be a bit noisy. I also love Praga in Lombard, on St. Charles; very quiet, a bit pricier though than Glen Prairie.

We love Adelles in Wheaton! Request a table in the smaller, quieter room.

can't go wrong with Braxtons.

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year,
Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

Dinner in GE? From Main and Hillside and around town...Sante Fe, Shannons, Cabs, Vitorios, Barone's, Glen Oak, Curly's, Honey, Thipi Thai, Bistro Monet, Marinella's, Gratto, Tap House. Don't forget your retail and restaurant tax dollars go toward schools...in GE. May I gently suggest you support your own town?

I've been to Glen Prairie for Breakfast - it was good. I'm grateful to the hotel for the beautiful renovation and efforts in the community. Also Love Danby Station, Los B's, Bejing - all great independents.
