You have posted six times, Kosmider...and............uuhhhhhhh.......every single post involves your love for Cookie Cutters and/or Chewy. You must really love Cookie Cutters and/or Chewy. Which is OK I guess. I, for your information, am smitten with the Packy Webb Dodge character Racky the Ram.

I saw Chewy getting dressed in front of my house a couple of weeks ago. He (?) was heading over to Glenbard West for a track meet. Did you know that it is actually a human being inside a costume? He actually needs to be assisted closing the back up after slipping the thing over his head! Couldn't believe it myself. Racky the Ram is the real deal, baby!

Wow, I would have never guessed.

Note to self, avoid shameless self promoters Donald Trump, Paris Hilton and Cookie Cutters.

Of all of the really cool things to see at the TOGE and the carnival, seems odd that Chewy the Walking Cookie stood out from the rest of the distractions. Although it could be sour grapes on my part....as Racky the Packy Webb Dodge Ram was not at the festival. BTW, funnel cake...it's really not that good.

Kosmider, you should meet Tomi Taggart, owner of Cookie Cutters. I'll bet you two have a crapload of things in common.

First of all, funnel cake at $5 a pop is ridiculous. Second, I'm a little disappointed because I thought this thread was going to be about where I could get some chewy cookies.

Not to beat a dead cookie-shaped mascot (it may very well be too late), but do these two quotes sound like they were written by the same person?

"I get my haircut with my son at Cookie Cutters, believe it or not, they have great stylists for adults and it is much less expensive than the other choices. Vickie, Angie or Ellen are great. Ellen is a Ben Franklin Mom!
Good luck!"

-and-

"My children love their class and have progressed so well this year. I just wanted to thank you both. My son is already talking about how come he doesn't have school in the summer. He wakes up Fri-Sun and asks if he has school, when I tell him no, he is sad...I wanted you to know how much they enjoy being in the class!"

Can't explain why I found this post so funny. I don't dare show it to hubby or he'll actually expect me to consider a haircut from Cookies on Roosevelt. Ha!
But you've got me curious........where did the second quote come from?

Clamato, where did you find that second quote? I am guessing it sounds like a tennis instructor or some sort of activity at Main St? Am I right?

Just did a search of the owner's name and Glen Ellyn...and the Montessori school came up.

Listen...what Tomi/Kosmider did was no crime...no big deal...understandable...but why can't biz owners just make their way on to this site like our boy Epub?

Seriously, as much as I probably would love Kosmider (she is a homer after all)...that post did make me gag/cringe. When was the last time your kids met a teenager in a mascot costume and you wanted to shout it from the rooftops? Never. Reread it and see if you disagree. You don't, do you? Do you? I think you see that I may be right.

We love you, Kos...and Cookie Cutters. Come back and say hello.

Jombl, I really do mean no offense here, but I just need to know where you are coming from with this post. For a guy who was ready to rip my head off and crap down my throat yesterday, for posting a "very ambiguous and open ended comment" regarding the people entering the apartments above Soukups, I find it rather odd you would call the guy in the gorilla suit "weird". I'll admit "weird" is slightly less abrasive than "seedy", but it still carries many negative connotations, like awful, grotesque and even kinky. I know exactly who you are speaking of. He's somewhat short, balding with black hair, taped glasses and stands out in rain, sleet, snow or shine handing out brochures for what I believe to be World Gym. He's been doing this for years, probably for scratch. Often in 90 degree plus weather, he is unmasked and panting. Is this the guy? He more than likely fits your description of "good number of working and independent lower income people", yet you refer to him as "weird". Maybe its his only means of gainful employment. Again, I mean no offense and if I misunderstood your post, you must excuse me. Smile

Okay, as I have mentioned before, I am a friend of the owner's of Cookie Cutters. I do think Chewy is very fun - my kids love him!!! The owner, Tomi, is making such an effort to support our community and I applaud her for that!!!
In addition, she helps other business owners promote within her store. I don't mind helping her and I have encouraged to post her own messages but I believe she is very busy trying to keep her business in survival mode. The point is they give great haircuts to kids and adults!!!! I wish we had more people like her in our business community!!

Kosmider (a very loyal customer of most Glen Ellyn businesses!!

Jombl, I guess I did take it little bit personal. However, your post made me think long and hard and I at least owe you for that. My crude posts regarding the homeless were only meant to highlight the extreme opposite end of "invisible". I don't wish any harm upon anyone. BTW......

Main Entry: weird
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: bizarre
Synonyms: awe-inspiring, awful, creepy*, curious, dreadful, eccentric, eerie*, far-out*, fearful, flaky*, freaky*, funky*, ghastly, ghostly, grotesque, haunting, horrific, inscrutable, kinky*, kooky*, magical, mysterious, occult, odd, oddball*, ominous, outlandish, peculiar, preternatural, queer, secret, singular, spooky*, strange, supernal, supernatural, uncanny, uncouth, unearthly, unnatural

I am glad we cleared this up, I hope. You write extremely well and are very articulate. I know with the stroke of one key, you can probably take me down like a rotten piece of timber in the forest. Your thought process is unique and factual. Me on the other hand, I recognize my posts are more akin to a bull in a china shop. I type first and think later. I am a regular Joe, an ordinary guy. I drink beer out of a can, use words like "got" and "ain't" all the time. I cut my own lawn and I am still not sure which of two forks to begin using at the dinner table. No hard feelings here!

I may have to disagree Clam, ILOVETOPAINTWOMEN made a good point. After FamilyGuy took a shot at ILTPW, ILTPW rebutted with the following:

quote:
Nice avatar, his chin looks like a nut sack. LOL

I am all for the group hug thing, just not certain if I want ILTPW knowing (no offense ILTPW).

He's a colorful guy. I love the pink slippers thread, read it three times. I never laughed so hard in my life. I laughed so hard, I even woke up the wife. I got to admit he has a good point.
