According to the Honey staff, they will have a liquor license in about a month and will serve wine and beer. At this point they have not been cleared by the Village. The Village will also not allow one to bring in a bottle of wine. Hopefully with the first day success of this much needed restaurant, the Village will be so willing to keep the large downtown traffic flow that they will move quickly on putting the license through quickly. Do try this cafe. My experience today was excellent and I am so looking forward to many more excellent meals at Honey. Elizabeth has done her usually awesome job for this Village!!!!!!!

Hmmm...I thought the board was to pass the Honey liquor license at its 11.13.07 meeting. Perhaps it takes awhile to process...sorry for any miscommunication above...

Thanks for being wrong, 4MP. Thank God you're human. I've always had you on a pedestal...good to see you're one of us.

I thought so too. Who knows what happened! I was quite surprised that this did not go through. However, the food is so good, that I can get along without a glass of Cab! (For awhile atleast)

Hello Clamato,

Thank you so much for joining our e-mail list. I'm sorry not to have communicated sooner, but every week we think we will open next week and then we are thrown a curve and it becomes the next week.

We passed our health department inspection last week so thought we would open Monday. Unfortunately the building inspector will have to visit us again before we can do that. So, still I can't give a specific date.

Our staff is awesome. Our food is amazing. We really can't wait to open. It just may be another week or so. We hope we will see you soon. We will send another e-mail once our doors are open.

Thank you for the wonderful support, it has truly helped us through the challenging times!

all the best,

Elizabeth Janus

just curious, why is it important for me/us to know that you've "personally received this"? i've noticed this particular call-out on a few of your posts. is it an inside joke i'm not getting? enlighten me.

Inside joke. I'm fairly certain that many others personally received the same thing. How do I know? Because whoever sent it out used CC instead of BCC...so I was able to see who got it. Big Grin Now you are enlightened. Smile

Heads up-Honey won't be open until 10 a.m. today. Doesn't help those of us who were expecting to have a bite to eat after 7 a.m. mass. Mad

When did this place start gettin' called "Honey's?"/"Honey's"?...it has only been open one day. I blame t.a. for this.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the Jewels.

#1 son and i tried honey's this morning. . . no luck. the kitchen was closed due to a mysterious "emergency." strike one. only 4-5 stay-at-home GE moms sitting around sipping coffee -- nicely frosted pony tails protubing just right through the backs of their caps.

i decided to order my one coffee for the day: a four shot americano (fyi, i own a very expensive espresso station that allows me to custom make my simple, yet VERY strong americano to my tastes at home. i rarely order coffee out). for their americano, honey's only offers two shots for the same price starbucks charges for a three shotter. i changed my mind and did not order coffee. strike two.

if the kitchen had been open, #1 son would have ordered the buttermilk pancakes -- all TWO of them for $6. strike three.

we left deeply dissatisfied.
