Me and the Mrs. went to Honey this noon intending to eat lunch, but their door was locked. Lights were on and few families were inside eating, WTF? I shook the door a few more times until I saw a sign stating "closed". We didn't see any hours posted or sign explaining that they were closing early for Thanksgiving. Me and the Mrs. stood there confused while two younger looking workers stood behind the counter completely ignoring us. They could have at least opened the door to let us know what was going on. The food at Honey is good, but I get the impression Liz has hired inexperienced wait staff and it just bit her in the a$$ as we went elsewhere.

OK. Now even I must admit that that is weird.

Um....were you trying to push the door? Because I think it pulls outward. Big Grin

Geez a petes!....Give the place a chance. Who do you think you are Oprah trying to shop privately at Hermes ? If the door was locked, they weren't open. Bottom line. So many people bitch about the stupidest **** on this board!

For this Board, this thread qualifies as high praise for HONEY. To those unfamiliar with the posting style here, it would come across as negative. Probably only Bistro Monet and the bartender at Vittorio's rank higher than Honey at this point.

The general rule of thumb around here seems to be: If you can't find anything nice to say, type it on the message board.

I wasn't bitching. Only pointing out the possibility that Mr. and Mrs. Bitter may have misread the push/pull directions.

NH, take solace that only a few bitchy and bored queens read this site on a regular basis.

My first post praised Honey. The food is awesome and unique. Having the door locked at noon is bad for business.

You guys make me laugh. If anyone knows about pushing and pulling it's me, I do have 4 kids you know. Wink

Where the hell have you been Native?

Let me get this straight-BB goes to eat at Honey, finds the door locked, no posted hours, no sign on the door and not even the courtesy of one of the staff to open the door and tell him they're closed for Thanksgiving and that's stupid ****? Did I get that straight? Since when has the customer been responsible for adjusting their expectations to suit the establishment? Isn't one of the stated objectives of improving the GEBD is to have longer more consistant hours to encourage people to come and spend money in GE?

Explain to me why I should give a business a chance when I really don't know when their going to be open? Please help me out here!

You got me pegged. Big Grin

Bad day to be a Project Manager, everyone has checked out. I will get some attitude adjustment this evening. $5 sissy drinks, 1/2 price appetizers should do the trick.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not mad. I'm just worried that she may be losing business already and not even know it. I can't begin to thank her enough for not only opening a business in our downtown, but for adding such wonderful interest to that otherwise crap of a corner. I want her business to succeed. I intend to go back.

Exactly Iggy...but have you noticed how I have become much less bitchy and critical of restaurants and shops (I love them!) and have been focusing my venom towards the majority of the current administration (boo! they stink!)? I feel it makes me much more likeable and electable. I think it's working, too.

Why America is going the way of the Roman Empire-we condone mediocrity.
