Perhaps I get better results than Bitter Boy when I voice my concern about those that are passed out on village property because I am cooler than he is.

No, just much older and more distinguished. Smile I never get any respect, just ask my wife. I am glad they took care of the problem though. However, why did you have to flag the coppers down? Why must we do their work for them? ARE THEY BLIND?

I have called many times and even walked into the police station while these folks have been passed out (Real Time) and at least two of those times I waited around to see if anyone showed up, nobody ever did. This is what aggravates me. Its bullshit and has to change.

I turned onto Prospect. There were about 10-12 dudes in various states of undress and dress...smoking ciggies...and....get this....trying to provide another bottle for Ruydah's social experiment. There were at least two bottles that I could see.

Why can't the police patrol like they are supposed to? They know about this stuff. For God's sake, it's scribed right here.

So let's sum up today's adventures......

Amy called the police and Clam flagged two down. Makes for a real pleasant Saturday in GE. I'm thinking maybe I should open a liquor store in our CBD, go with the trend.

I forgot to mention that I called the Police non-emergency number ('cause it wasn't really an EMERGENCY) and the woman I spoke with seemed quite exasperated at my complaint and forwarded me to 911. When I was on the phone with them, after giving them all the info of where the man solicting money was sitting (I saw him asking every person that walked by), they were asking me to hold and I got disconnected. I don't know if they ever did anything about it.

The one other time I called, it took them about 45 minutes before an officer came. I know because I called before the dentist appointment and the "gentleman" (How's it goin'guy) was still there and the police were just pulling up as I left the appointment. I guess they were hoping to give the guy enough time to leave or something....

It's because they don't care. The police are well aware of the problem. I've called, I've stopped in. THEY DON'T CARE!!!! Something isn't right here.

Answer the question for me Clam....why was Lee moved? If you can't tell me here, then tell me on the train. I really don't want to believe that our village would relocate a business that was good for GE's CBD, yet refuse to relocate those who harm our CBD. Tell me it isn't so. Please tell me.

Ok, I am going to pretend like it's Christmas Eve and go to bed now. When I wake tomorrow morning, I am going to rub the sand out of my eyes, take a leak and log on and check to see if Santa Clam left me a present (that being an answer to my question).

day five. sat. 9/22. 7:00-7:30 a.m.

one spotted.
• mcsmokes sitting at a table at einsteins. departed as soon as patrons sat at adjacent table.

*please note, i was in the passenger seat of clam-driven vehicle at 7:45 this evening. as we passed the "clark gas station memorial park", clam suggested there were many homeless loitering about. . . from my vantage point i saw nothing. i have 20/20 vision and cat-like night vision. i cannot attest to clam's eyesight. he did, though, seem to be hallucinating tonight.

dead serious, i saw ZERO. as we passed the park, i stated that it was empty and clam agreed. milliseconds prior to turing onto pennsylvania, clam suggested he saw them (meaning multiple people). i turned and looked, yet saw only the foiliage within the park.

i should mention that it was well past dusk, yet i do want do reiterate my excellent vision.

Driving past Einstein's at 8:00 a.m., there was Stinky McSmokes, cigarette in hand, looking half conscious. As I continued northward, towards Starbucks, I see something blocking out the sun-it's Clam's head and he's in shorts crossing the street. I'm thinking next week I should go to the Saturday mass to avoid Sunday morning GE style. The horror, the horror. Eek

Your vision is miserable,,,and you are older than I am.

Lee moved in order to utilize Mama Gibs facilities. Moot point...he will be retired again in a few weeks.

Let's not forget the grassy knoll in between Linea and Coldwell Banker. Totally awesome hangout.

McSmokes can frequently be seen hunched over the handle-bars of his bicycle on the southwest corner of Hill & Park (right by the giant house with the lions)enjoying, well, a smoke. Also, I challenge anyone to find an open bench around 5:30 on Saturdays at Prairie Path Park. For the past two Saturdays, all 4-5 benches were "occupied" by temporary resident friends.

And lastly, has anyone ever had any confrontations with Humpty-Dumpty? One afternoon at Starbucks, my wife and I (sans kids, wishing to enjoy a latte together) tried to grab a seat when she accidentally bumped into Humpty-Dumpty sitting at the table right next to us. Wow! What a flurry of cuss words! He was livid over her accidentally invading HIS space!

Thank you, Hyoog. May I say that it is always sad when quiet time out with loved ones is disturbed by panhandlers. Now, is Humpty Dumpty the quarter guy? "How you doin'? Do you have a quarter?" He has recently adjusted the amount for inflation and now requires 50 cents.

If I am with my wife in the idyllic downtown Glen Ellyn central business district and someone goes off on her and I...I can assure you that there will be police involvement. Makes no difference to me if this person is a lunatic or not, I'll shag the cops on him/her for their own protection as well as mine. 911 is your friend.

Why I didn't call the police on the 8-10 shirtless wonders swilling malt liquor from fohtees at the gas station park on Saturday is a mystery.
