What suggestions do any of you have for a four-year-old girl's birthday gift? Fun and/or educational gift ideas would be much appreciated. Smile

While none of my kids are preschool age any more Frown, I have a multitude of nieces who require many birthday and Christmas gifts. I've found recently that they love getting anything involving arts and crafts. You can hit Hobby Lobby and either get a pre-made kit of some sort or put together your own personalized art box filled with fun markers, stickers, googly eyes, drawing paper, glue etc, etc. They even have cute containers that you can personalize (I like using the boxes designed to hold photos). Have fun!

Two different Cranium games come to mind - Hullabaloo and Cariboo. Cariboo is more educational, Hullabaloo more active, but both are a lot of fun for 4 year old boys or girls. They both can also be played alone or with friends.

I bought one of these for someone about that age. Went over well.

Sadly, I paid full price....and there is zero access to porn. Frown

Learning Express on Roosevelt has tons of age appropriate gifts. Lots of games, books, animals, etc. My 4 yr old loves her breathing dog (a stuffed animal that comes with a home, brush and birth certificate and "breathes").

They also have lap desks that can be personalized which is another huge hit.

Downtown:
The Book Store has great books to give.
M&Ms has clothes, backpacks, garden tools, toys, etc.
The Pink Hippo has fun headbands and hair clips to put on them and are interchangeable, plus t-shirts and hats.

Depending on the child, there are lots of other fun things to be found in and around GE!

Thanks for all of the great ideas. I talked to her dad and - big surprise - she loves princesses, but already has five tiaras!! He also mentioned intense interest in Polly Pocket dolls - and received some at her first party (!!) last weekend. Those little dolls have been around for a long time!

When is your birthday, Nika? I am getting you a special gift. It starts with the letter D and ends in -ictionary. Wink

GE Mom2: Since I also raised only boys, I have to depend on the expertise of the staff at Learning Express. They have never steered me in the wrong direction! They also have a frequent buyers registration, so the more you buy, the more rewards! They also have mailings with specials, so be certain to register. (While you are there, you could also buy a beginning dictionary for Nika!)
