Any idea when the awnings on Main are to be replaced? I am curious to know if the village idiots have said anything about the appearance of the stores along that part of the street. They are quick to drag their feet on other issues, but yet this has looked bad for over a month, and they haven't seemed to insist that it be fixed.

On the SOUTH side of Main Street ... the green awnings in front of Riveria Jewelers have been ripped almost all the way off for most of the new year.

There is only an east or west side of Main St, seeing as it runs N/S. I think you mean't south of the tracks, or duane st or something.

As far as the awning goes, my guess is it is the responsibility of the tenant, and I doubt they are making much money these days.

At this point, could they be waiting until winter is over? They probably weren't in the best shape to begin with, but my guess is that this winter's heavy snows were the final straw for those awnings.

while they're at it... now that the rug store has moved out, can we get the building on Penn properly sided so that the pink insulation isn't exposed all the way around the front of the building?

They did replace them. . . Didn't you see? They're clear! They now have brand new clear awnings Wink

I believe the village put a stop to that siding. Wasn't up to code for a commercial building. Why don't they restore it to the original facade I'm sure it looked nice in its day.

I've often thought the same thing...even though that building has it's many problems (talking with the Karamis folks) it does have a unique Terra Cotta facade, which is exposed at Enchantments. Why not just tear off all the siding and make it look like it did when it was the Jewel Tea?
