I see where Claim Jumper's in Lombard (Yorktown) opened this past Monday, has anybody been by to try them? I think the wife and I will give em a try this Friday night. Sorry Steve, but man cannot live by Firkin's alone. Wink

Mrs. Arten went on a girls weekend...rowwwwwrrrrrr.....

You know.....AOL CityGuide says the excalibur is only 7 miles away from Claim Jumpers.....I bet Mrs' Arten stopped in for a little show
thunder

On a side note...Claim Jumpers is quite a popular restaurant in Southern California...My family and I pretty much enjoyed it.

You know, when you've seen one you've pretty much seen them all. And I really don't care to have strange ones waved in my face. Eek

Went to Claim Jumpers last night. We only had appetizers and dessert, but it was really good! If anyone's going, I would highly recommend the Tortilla soup...mmmmm. Everything seems to be huge there, so order in moderation. Once we saw our appetizers, there was no way we could order entrees. And Normy, they have a HUGE selection of girlie-tinis. You'll like it. They also have a huge mixed drink selection. I had the Bananas Foster martini...sounded better than it tasted...not really worth the $9 it cost.

Thanks Cliff. Mrs. Yossarian and I are thinking of heading up there tonight, if the weather doesn't get too bad. BTW-If you visit the Yossarian homestead while were out, make sure you leave with what you came with. Red Face

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I just leave my lingerie wherever it drops.

ps/ FYI - The first Claim Jumper opened in Los Alamitos, California in 1977. The restaurants typically have a dignified American Old West theme. They are known for the large portions and the level of detail in their atmospheres. The menu features a wide range of foods, but focuses mainly on meats such as steak. The Yorktown location is the first of its kind in Illinois.

You know if it wasn't for our respective spouses, it would be you and I at Firkins, watching the game and having a cold one. We will always have the thought of what might have been, which for you is fortunate, cause I could never live up to George. Clooney or "of the jungle".

Those pesky spouses...damn! Why do they have to get in the way all the time? Wink Well at least we have our time together on the BB. Mrs. Yoss sure is a lucky woman.

Bananas Foster Martini....no shit????!!!!!

This place sounds right up most west suburbanites alley. Psychotic "martinis", huge portions of food of a yet-to-be-determined quality, and an Old West theme...probably will soon have an hour and a half plus wait on top of it. I am sooooo there.
