I know I've mocked the idea of this gift shop in the History Center in the past, but I went there for the first time yesterday. I gave a talk at the history center and then decided to browse the gift shop, and I was surprised. It's a nice little home decor shop, with more than just Glen Ellyn-related items (which, I admit, was what I had always assumed). I still think it's a terrible location but given the fact that with the demise of Schmid's, we now have zero home decor shops in the CBD, I think it has potential. If only people remembered to drive up there - that's the big drawback, of course.
I was told that whoever used to be the buyer for The Loom Room (and if you can remember that store, you've been here a while) is the buyer for the Stacy's Corners Store. Anyway, I'll probably stop by again before Christmas, and thought I'd let others know that it's worth a perusal.
