Thanks for the recommendation! We went last night and the food and service were outstanding. The new martini/wine bar addition is great!

Worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. Had a reservation for our anniversary. Arrived 10 minutes before reservation and checked in, everything was "all good." one hour later, still waiting for our table. Wife asked twice during the wait, they said that they were working on it even though we saw empty tables. after waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes, one hour after our reservation time, we got a table. it was placed half on tile, half on carpeting, so it rocked back and forth. We walked by 2 empty booths and 3 tables getting to this table. We asked for another table. They said not a chance, the hostess and manager on duty were complete asshats. We said we had a reservation for a booth, the disagreed. I pulled out the sheet of paper with reservation info, including booth, they said "doesn't work that way" I asked about the 2 booths we passed up, the manager actually told me "those are for reservations, but not yours" My wife dropped the first F bomb and we walked out. Happy anniversary.

I suggest this restaurant for your anniversary:

Never trust an upscale restaurant owned by Houlihan's.

Anyways, try the whitefish next time. So good.

Had it many times...excellent! Don't worry, you'll go out again, when the youngest turns 18.

You've spent too much time on the road eating at corporate-owned chains. You need my help. Trust me, Yoss. Just follow my rules. And always remember..."The Is No Food Worth Waiting For."

Excellent

As far as corporate monoliths are concerned...LETTUCE restaurants are the best.

Agreed. Next time anyone goes, do the pre-order of the dessert soufle. They need 45 min. to make it. Completely worth it and surprisingly affordable for the quality.

That has become my mantra.

And yes, I do frequent corporate eateries when I'm on the road, if you'd seen the dining options in these rural towns where our facilities are located, you see why.

We used to go to Braxton's when they had jazz on a regular basis. However we have stopped going as its service has totally declined. They seem to feel that they are doing us a favor to allow us to eat there! Absolutely love Mon Ami Gabi.

Please try Vie in Western Springs as it is so good!

Holy crap! I did not know this. Was a great place, but really always wondered why he was revamping/changing from the oh-so successful Bistro Banlieu. That place certainly wasn't broke, so why he thought he had to 'fix it' is beyond me. Unless he just got bored and wanted a challenge, who knows. Sad.
