You'd think so, wouldn't you? If only you knew, my friend...

On another topic, you are not the only fan of the new Soldier Field.

What am I to read into this, D? That they were not contacted...or that they were denied the opportunity?

That's all the alternatives you can come up with? (I'm only referencing one group from one school.)

Got down there about 5:45, heard a few carols. Santa w/ his magic dust was a hit. Like the tree back where it belongs. The lights look a bit goofy to me, too - - but my kids didn't notice. Swung by a few of the retailers, saw some friends and neighbors, had a few pops. Zip in, zip out, no one got hurt. I thought it was a good event; a little better than last year.

What is so offensive about it? Once they remove the concrete shell around the stadium, it will look great.

If we could make the clock turn a little faster we could be the only village with one of those really kewl spinning trees from the 60's.

I *LOVE* the tree - cheesy snowflakes, blue/green lights and all! I really liked last year's tree also - I thought it was VERY well done. As for the rest of this year's Christmas Walk, the expanded presence of the GE VFD was a bit hit with my kids, as was Santa's police escort. My six year old did not buy Santa's 'magic snow', but I'm sure it worked for a majority of the crowd! I do agree that it would have been nice to have a longer block of entertainment - it seemed like there was more going on last year - the movie, strolling characters, etc. Maybe it was just too cold this year? At any rate, we enjoyed the entertainment at the library open house. All in all, this event continues to be one of my favorite parts of living in Glen Ellyn!!!

Best idea......EVER. I had a friend whose parents had an aluminum one that spun. It had a light shining on it that had a 4-color revolving thing on it that made the tree change colors. That's what Glen Ellyn needs. Something useful for the Wark advertising clock campus.

My grandparents had this exact same tree, complete with the color wheel and blue ornaments. Ah, the '60's. Such a plastic paradise!
