I've bought two things so far from these folks. First was a Bottom Round roast that I braised in the oven and it was fantastic. Second was beef stew meat that turned out to be the best stew I'd ever made. I have pre-ordered my turkey from them also, which I pick up today and will brine tonight. If all goes as well as the first two purchases, we should have a great meal tomorrow!
I really do like this place, even though I have been a loyal Machesney & Miller customer for many years. They also do catering and have several gourmet items on hand in the store.
Also, the prices have been scary good when I've been there (OK, so I haven't bought the finest cuts, but still...).
It's in that new shopping center on the southwest corner of Roosevelt and Nicol Way. Where the Holsom Bread place was.
I should have noted that the turkey I'm picking up is organic, free-range (good to mention to some of my hippie family members) and was $2.49 a lb. I paid at least twice that per pound one year at Whole Foods, so I ended up paying about $70 for that turkey <yes, I will buy a bridge if you have it up for sale>.
