I don’t usually allow such blatently commercial announcements here on the GEBB, but hey... it’s Christmas! And if I can’t break one of my own rules, who can?
Local designer/photographer/publisher Erik Peterson took an extraordinary panoramic photo of downtown at the Christmas Walk last month, and is offering a limited number of 36˝ x 12˝prints.
It’s a great last-minute present for the past, present or future Glen Ellyn resident who has everything, including a bare spot over the mantlepiece.
Available at several locations throughout downtown (more info). And no, no matter what the U.S. Attorney’s office has on tape, I was not told that I could become a US Senator or otherwise compensated for posting this message.
Nice work, Erik!

Being a prominent resident of Glen Ellyn, a man that many like to keep happy in case they need something important or require a very entertaining guest to make their parties a success, our household received the Christmas card version from Erik...complete with a personalized greeting. I know none of you are surprised by this.
I was impressed by the image...to say the least. Wonderful work, Erik.

These photos don't compare to Erick's however they do show whats happening the other 364 days of the year! This one was very funny, b/c the GEPD gave a ticket to the Elmhurst Police while they were executing an arrest warrant in our town! The vehicle outside Enviroments is the Elmhurst K-9 (i.e. Drug dog) The van belonged to Elmhurst P.D and was used to transport police (In full body armor) to execute the warrant.
I'm not sure of his name, It's not Perez I know that. This guy gave me my first (and only) speeding ticket way back in 1988. 7 over the limit. Every time I encounter him he is crabby as hell!
I also am selling pictures from the Christmas Walk. Now mine were only taken by a shaky iPhone, but obviously Erik saw me snapping away and being famous photographer that I am, he decided to 'borrow' my view point. My photos are available for $5 and will be printed on whatever paper is in my wife's printer. Enjoy!
Thanks Ted and the rest of you who shared an appreciation of the event/image. Ted, the check's in the mail.
When Ted mentioned his post and the responses I had to check it out. I laughed til I cried when I saw the photos of the police and the $5 iPhone photo. I definitely want a copy on whatever paper is in your wife's printer!
If any of you have interest in seeing a black and white version, Tracey at Bells and Whistles requested a bw print with a colored tree and Santa. It's in the game room.
Excellent shot! I saw it walking to Thipi Thai last week and was wondering who the photographer was. Was a panoramic camera used, or was the image cropped? The colors are excellent and it is a fantastic portrait of the downtown area in one of it's highlights of the year. Nice work Erik!
