From the EDC...

Curly’s Pizza opens today (7/15) in downtown Glen Ellyn!

The new business is under the same new ownership as the popular Curly’s Grill on Pennsylvania Avenue. Fresh oven-baked pizzas are available from the storefront at 498 Crescent Boulevard, just west of Young’s Appliances.

Patrons at Curly’s Grill can also enjoy Curly’s pizza. Delivery will be available soon.

The owners plan to expand the menu to incorporate beef sandwiches, burgers, and more in the future.

Doesn't this sound like a weird business plan. Have two restaurants that are right behind one another and pretty much serve the same food?

You never cease to amaze me at how handsome you are.

Wait. Handsome? I meant funny...not handsome. Handsome might be inappropriate.

I'm sure it's for tax purposes.

Whenever I come across really complicated business holdings espcially ones that involve flow charts in order to fully understand what each comppany's purpose is -the answer always is: it was more beneficial for tax purposes to do it this way.

I just nod . . . "Ahh, I see."

Or........it could be that they want to sell pizzas in order to generate revenue. Pizza has on of the lowest food costs in the industry. The stuff is almost all profit.

First, Fan, that was FRICKIN' hilARious!

Second, I was downtown for a meeting and decided to save myself some labor and pick up a Curly's pizza for the fam for lunch. Pretty tasty. Not the best I've had but it IS the first full day and they don't have their full menu up until next week.

Hi,

FAN! That has my vote as the funniest post on this site for '08. Thus far, of course. Bear in mind, the pressure is on because the election is coming up in November. But for now - your / you're / yore / rendition of Cowboy has both adults in our households laughing our A&&es off.

So Thanks.

Smile

Hey "Cowboy Fan", you need to chill out! Better yet, I'm gonna have Alec Baldwin come down there and "straighten you OUT!!" Some of us just have an issue with two Curly's in the neighborhood...So why not Shemp's Pizza???

Not bad pizza if you need a change from Barones. The only problem is, it was $17 for a 16" pizza with 1 topping. Even though they made up for it with a coupon for a free 12" when you buy a 16". But that is way too much pizza for 2 people.

But I love Curly's food in the restaurant. The steak quesadillas are the best I have ever had. A lot of people like the mac and cheese too. Oh yeah, and the wings are great too. I can go on and on.
