We just returned from the Halloween festivities downtown. NICE! One retailer commented that she had given out nearly 1000 pieces of candy behind her festively painted windows. From Fushia to Lewek's to Soukups, Busy Bee, The Bike Shop and everywhere in between, THANK YOU to all the retailers who made the event possible. Good times!
Right on MP! We were there from about 10 til noon and had an excellent time. Seems like the guy from the Patio really got into the "spirit". Kids absolutely loved it.

Yes, all but my child! Unfortunately because he does not keep it contained to his "Patio" and allows his guys to walk the streets, my child refused to stay. His two gigantic headed costumes are the only ones my son is afraid of. We had to cut the trick or treating to a minimun (3 pcs of candy) BUMMER! Not complaining, he did a good job! My issue is when the monsters come out for the 4th of July parade...instead of watching the parade, my son watches his back the whole time, waiting for the Franken Head..4th of July??????
Surprisingly...as I have stated before...this really is the most popular event in downtown GE. More folks attend this gala, and for a longer period of time, than the Christmas Walk. What a shame that the C.O.C. had to be smacked upside the head in order to realize it. Granted, any two people in town over the age of 12 could have coordinated it (hint....don't let on....but the retailers do 99.46% of the work), but it was good to see the old guard milling about and taking it all in while wearing their truly tragic GECOC yellow jackets.
I enjoyed this event very much, but I thought that the village was going take this thing to a whole new level this year. I even posted here, my willingness to help coordinate. Nobody ever contacted me. This event has much, much greater potential. What happened?

They were not interested in your Martini trick or treat samples.
Around town there are a few homes that take decorating for Halloween quite seriously. Obviously, these folks enjoy fall, are passionate and creative, right? Why not make a record of their addresses this year, so that next year, a request could made asking each their willingness to help coordinate this event? I'll bet many are willing to help take this thing to a whole new level, me being just one of them.
