Went there on a Monday for a quick bite, won't be doing that again. Prices, way to high. The food was bland at best Wouldn't waste my money or time there again.

They must have an absolutely slammin' daytime/lunch business. Rarely a ton of people in their at night from what I have seen. Maybe it's the new Spice & Easy.

and yet I don't think I've seen one bad review for them....I've never been in there, but have been quite skeptical of it's strategic placement. What better place in the 'burbs to house a trendy-looking "cafe" than GE, right?
Gotta wonder who they're paying off....

I think Honey is a place everyone really wants to like. I have been their twice and was unimpressed by the food quality and the atmosphere. Also I dont get a breakfast place that does not open before 9am.
Southge hit it on the head. I want to like it, but 1) Proud Hubby absolutely hates it and won't let me drag him there. (Giving credence to Clam's theory). He dislikes the interior, saying it's way too cold and noisy. Plus the food offerings are just a bit too fey for his taste. And 2) - While I'm more adventurous in that way, I've yet to find anything from the kitchen that lives up to the description in the menu. Always more disappointing to eat than it was to read about.
Service has always been very friendly, however. Although I've never been in there when there were more than just 4-5 other dining parties.

I don't know the whole story about Honey, but I, too, get the feeling that it's not quite there yet -- even after all this time.
The dining room is ... weird. I don't know how else to describe it. It has a weird feeling that I rarely get in restaurants.
We went there once for dinner and were shocked at the price. Never again for dinner.
As I say, I don't know the whole story here, but I *think* what this place needs is a new chef. This has the potential to be a knock-your-socks off urban "bistro" or whatever you want to call it. A gastropub, perhaps (like the Gage downtown) -- but it needs an infusion -- a desperate infusion -- of new. New chef, new food, new tables and chairs.
I think it started out as much more ambitious -- but I know there were significant issues before it opened.
But it desperately -- desperately -- needs a makeover with better food, hipper food, and lower prices (although I'll pay for good food -- but not at the prices Honey is charging for dinner).
I believe they use all organic ingredients, thus they need to charge a bit more, but your not eating pesticides and hormones. I've always enjoyed their food. It's always fresh! I've never had a bad experience there. Can't say that for the majority of places in town.
