Many of us have taken steps, but the problem remains. We have been met with indifference from local officials on this matter and I think this situation plays right into what PADS wants-visability. I and many of the other posters are open to suggestion, so please feel free to offer up a strategy for dealing with this.

And if you want to be an good example to your children, you need to capitalize at the beginning of a sentence.

I think discussing these issues with PADS is a start. I also think setting up a meeting with our village and law enforcement officials is another good idea. I am more than willing to particpate in both, but just as Yoss suggested, we need a strategy.

I really hope that more of you are willing to participate. If its just a couple of us residents with no base of support, we will be labeled as bigots and dismissed - just as Bennydog attempted to do. Strength is in numbers on this one.

I wonder if this is as easy as getting the PADS Director to go to the next Coffee with the Cops. Might kill two birds with uno stone.

If'n that PADS Director did show up for that meeting, the village might go broke buying coffee and donuts.

Voicing ones concerns is simply the first step towards identifying problems in the community, discussing it builds consensus and gives weight to the matter.

The proper thing is not that your neighbors shut up and keep their complaints to themselves - the proper thing is that the leadership listen to the concerns of the community and take action.

Your anger is misdirected, people are right to feel out their neighbors on the issues that affect their quality of life. It is wrong when leadership fails to take heed.

I wonder what the PADS powers that be would have to say about the situation. They have to know it's happening; it could be documented with video if necessary.

The "gathering" must happen wherever the shelter is that day because it happens Wednesday evenings in Lombard.
