Go to www.bwsnackery.com On the menu page you can print off coupons to bring with you to their store. When you give them the coupon, they give that group 15% of your purchase. No waiting for a special day or time. This weekend is a special for the Bridge Communities. 20% and all tips! They gave $6k in 2009 to GE non profits. Say $10k is goal for 2010!

That's fantastic! I haven't yet had the opportunity to try it, but have been dying to. Maybe I'll take the kids there for lunch on Saturday after ice skating....

So I printed out the coupon and (thanks to the wonders of a credit card) took my daughters there after ice skating on Saturday afternoon.

It was INCREDIBLY busy (though not crowded - great use of space!) and took us about 30-40 minutes to get our food. However, the staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful....even after my daughter knocked a plastic container of ice cream cones on the floor *cringe*. Once we got our food, it was completely worth the wait. My half sandwich was good and the soup was absolutely outstanding! My youngest daughter RAVED about her salad and my oldest daughter decided she would eat nothing but their pizza bagels for the rest of her life if she could, lol.

Though a little loud, the child-friendly atmosphere blew me away as well. And I love that it's split up so the kids could primarily be in one room and not disturb the adult diners in the other.

To top it all off....I think I spent about $35 (including a tip) on the three of us and we each had ice cream, too (btw, I highly recommend the cinammon). Pricing was not that much different than McDonald's and the food was FAR better!

This place is definitely high on my list of places to frequent in downtown. Unfortunatly I don't often have the extra cash flows to eat out, but when I do I can assure you it will be here. Overall it was an INCREDIBLE experience and I intend on sharing it with all of my non-GE family-friendly friends.

Thanks Tracey (sp?)!

You may want to go to the B&W web site and send a note through the contact us link - I did re my visit a week ago Monday night (the cold snowy evening where much of downtown GE appeared to be a ghost town). Although it was not a busy night at B&W, the staff welcomed me as a lone diner as happily as if I had planned to spend thousands. I got a note back the next day from the owner.

BTW, their chicken soup on a cold day is terrific. But, honest to God, if even a few more of the CBD retailers would pick up on B&W's attitude and enegy, there'd be a lot more reason to visit the CBD.

I agree, it would completely revive the downtown area if there were more places as vibrant and community-oriented as B&W is. Thanks for the tip, I will do that today Smile

I think I had some kind of tortilla or fajita soup or something....but it was SOO good....
