Anyone know when Potbellys will open for business? It looks like they are almost ready.

Looks like early November

Today I saw one of those signs in their driveway announcing a public hearing...hope this is a simple matter and not yet another attempt by the Village to make a new business "jump through hoops".

I found the phone number for Potbellys and called: they open for business on Monday!! The info on their website says they will serve breakfast. Anyone had breakfast at Potbellys?? Just wondering...

Yes...but my doctor says it is no longer allowed.

They have been serving breakfast for a couple of years downtown.

We went to Potbelly's Monday night, and then my son went again last night (He loves toasted sandwiches and Potbelly's is a tad more affordable than Quizno's). Anyway, it was busy, well-run (lots of management types on hand to make sure things went smoothly) and the food was good. (Got the chicken salad salad, which was very tasty.)

I really hope they do well. I think it's a great addition to this town.

Those places are printing presses for cash. They will do just fine.

I wouldn't mind if they lost the 20-something John Mayer wannabe's that they bring in during lunch hours to "sing" for the masses.

I agree. If I want live music, I'll head to the subway. Not the sandwich shop, I don't believe they have live music, rather the underground transportation place.

I can only stand hearing so many mediocre renditions of Indigo Girls and acoustic Nirvana music at any given time.

Yes...they do. This guy is playing "Galileo" in the parking lot while waiting for the GE PBs completion.

A lot of us could learn something from these lyrics. They are simply awesome! Clam, don't shoot the messenger.

Galileo's head was on the block
the crime was looking up for truth
and as the bombshells of my daily fears explode
I try to trace them to my youth

And then you had to bring up reincarnation
over a couple of beers the other night
and now I'm serving time for mistakes
made by another in another lifetime

i will happily go on record as saying i like the indigo girls. in addition, i like the idea of entertainment at potbelly's -- hippie tunes or otherwise. it's a freakin' sandwich shop fer corn's sake, not fine dining.

Fish:

Watershed is a better song, but never got the play of Galileo.

I have some super-awesome stories about the IGs and my life in Atlanta in the late 80's.

Will tell them on the court Sunday. Maybe that will inspire us to beat those hacks.

Just an FYI, Potts and I are available, though I'm sure Pete has our invitation in hand.

works for me. fyi, we have a rubber game to settle from last weekend's clay court grudge match. thankfully, the weather may allow us to do that. if the other two can't/won't make it, can you and potts. . . er, armchair play? which day works best?

btw, have you ever seen clam dive for a ball before? a sweet sight to behold.
