Did everybody get their Chamber of Commerce directory? Could someone have thrown a little photoshop at the cover photo to rid the horse trough of its rust and general disrepair marks? At least they didn't show the bashed in bricks.

As I was tossing my copy into my recycling bin, I was thinking of what a wasted opportunity the Chamber had to drum up business for its members. Rather than print out and distribute (at probably a substantial cost) what is not much more than a glorified list of merchants (Borrring!), they could have encouraged them to include coupons or advertise local specials to actually entice people to shop locally!

Just curious - you obviously don't find the book directory helpful. What is the reason? Do you look up business info online?

We are working to grow the Coupon section of our website for local businesses. What would you like to see?

I loved it (love, still have it) and it goes in the drawer with my phone books. And yes, I'm still a geek and use phone/yellow pages books! Coupons would be cool. I use the coupons in the yellow pages books all the time. I was surprised to see all the members. Seemed bigger (more business) than seeing them online, no? Saw different business from other towns in there too, neat. The handy contacts near the beginning was a nice touch.
