Glen Ellyn Economic Development Corporation
Introduces New Online Resource

Website at GlenEllynEDC.com offers facts, figures to entice new businesses

The Glen Ellyn Economic Development Corporation (EDC) introduces a new website today to help visitors enjoy the wealth of shopping opportunities while attracting new businesses to the area.

“The new website serves a dual purpose, to communicate the benefits of operating a business in Glen Ellyn and providing a one-stop opportunity for visitors to find those businesses quickly and easily,” said Janie Patch, executive director of the Glen Ellyn EDC.

Now, potential Glen Ellyn business owners, residents and visitors can access this online portal for information including:

• Detailed information about Glen Ellyn demographics
• Searchable directory of shops and businesses in all three business districts – Roosevelt Road, Downtown Glen Ellyn and Five Corners
• Up-to-date information on lease opportunities and business attraction efforts, including a store-opening checklist
• One-click maps and directions to shopping areas
• Latest news on retailer events, dining, community events and more

In addition, the new website reflects the visual appeal of the “Glen Ellyn Style” marketing campaign, including original art and photography. The user-friendly navigation keeps the interest of visitors and makes it simple to access the information they need.

Existing Glen Ellyn businesses can learn more about the EDC’s programs for building improvements and marketing support with a simple portal to sign up for the EDC e-newsletter. Also, the website provides answers to common questions for business owners, including solutions for employee parking, signage for special events and sidewalk maintenance.

The website will also be a repository for EDC public information, including board agendas, annual reports and meeting minutes.

“The EDC is devoted to showcasing the opportunities and potential for businesses to operate in Glen Ellyn,” said Patch. “This new website goes beyond the basics and creates a richly colored tapestry ofGlen Ellyn’s positive aspects, for both the shopper and business owner alike.”

The Glen Ellyn Economic Development Corporation (EDC) was created in 1991 out of a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Glen Ellyn to facilitate local economic development for the benefit of both businesses and residents.

Much nicer...see if some of that magic can rub off on the Pong-era COC site.

That is a nice site. How did they make the place look so charming in the photos? Clean too! I guess its like meeting someone online. They post a photo from 15 years ago, you think WOW. . . .Then you meet them in person . . . oh boy.

I'm looking down main street now. Still plenty of vacant buildings and deteriorating facades.

Decent. Buttons across the top had a shadow thing that is cut off? Sub menus have some weird text (ap) across the top that push everything down.

And the photos could be a lot better. Main is slanted a little in a few, unless it is actually slanted like that. A few are washed out as well. Looks like no clean up was done on them.

I know a photographer that has some fantastic shots of downtown if they want to use them.
