The Bookstore on Main St. has kindly asked me to be their celebrity bookseller for a day. That day being this Friday, the 22nd, from 10 - 12.
Now, granted, their definition of "celebrity" leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm happy to oblige. So I'll be there selling books, chatting about books, and I'm told there will be free coffee, as well.
I'm not selling my book, personally - although it's available at the Bookstore, as it is everywhere. I'm just an employee on Friday; I was asked for the titles of a few of my favorite books, as a reader, and apparently they will be available to purchase that day. But mainly, I'm just there to be charming; the Bookstore has been featuring Chicago-area authors all during the month of October, in various ways.
(But, ahem - don't feel obligated to buy any of our books just because we're Chicago-area authors! I would hope you'd only buy books that appeal to you, first and foremost! )
I would love to come see you and/or other authors at the bookstore on a Friday morning between 10 - 12. I can't as I am working. The appeal is there, the availability is not.
